There's been a few posts popping up around the place where people have found "Wild Caught" listed in the classified descriptions. |

I not sure what you want to know or what you are exactly asking?
I can tell you however, that Pilbara Pythons (David Mackintosh) are licensed to legally deal in some species of wild caught reptiles.
We are not the only ones licensed to do this in W.A.
Regards Dave |

Dave,
just wondering what ' legally deal in some species of wild caught reptiles ' means? Are they caught for breeding purposes or to be sold?
Thanks Andrew. |

Johno
By legally deal, I mean licensed to participate the activities permitted under a W.A dealers licence e.g. Sell, trade to licence keepers etc (no breeding permission or collecting from the wild allowed on this licence)
A Takers Licence is a different matter, it permits one to wild collect for personal stock or to sell to dealers ( not permitted to breed or trade with keepers under this licence). |

| I think the laws should be the same for all states (My opinion). And I'd like it if DSE educated the staff they have answering the phones. I have had better answers from Indian Call Centers. |

mate Pilbara pythons has answered your question already.
he is legally able to collect WC animals and sell them with a licence that allows him to do so. If you look at his website he has pictures of the animals he collects and sells. what he breeds would be stock he as been licenced to breed.
I was reading in the NSW licencing that you can collect WC under a special licence as well as apply for a licence to take from the wild for scentific research.
these are 2 totally different licences.
its not like they are taking from the wild illegally and then trying to sell them.
Dave your doing a good job I love your WA BHP's they are stunning. |

I have a pair of wild caught paternless childreni.
Some of the nicest snakes I have seen and they aren't the slightest bit snappy Although the male does act more like a Boiga when trying to get away during cleaning time |
